Kind Words

Some kind words from a long-time fan.  Folks like this do OUR hearts good!

Dear Keepers of the Cowboy Way,

I just finished watching you guys on PBS's Song of the Mountains" this weekend after many years (I had never even seen your latest edition, Joey the Cowpolka King).  I used to watch your TV show on both TNN and CBS years ago. Seeing and hearing you tonight for the entire concert was like meeting an old friend. You guys are still the greatest. I laughed during Too Slim's rabbit dance, cried during Woody Paul's 'Arms of My Love," and marveled at the yodeling of not only the Idol of American Youth, but the entire group. Best of all, I was able to introduce my wife of 15 years (a native of Japan) to the great cowboy and Texas swing music that you keep alive. Thank you. It did my heart good.

Take care and Best to you all.

Howdy Cowpokes,
Loved the show last nite in Greeneville, TN., hope to see yall agin next year. Was thinking and believe I know who "Sidemeat" reminds me of...Hoot Gibson...well at least the hat. Hope to see you on your big 50th Golden Goose tour. You take me back to days of listening to Hoppy, Rex, and all the great Cowboys of radio days.

Howdy Cowpokes,
Great show in Greeneville, TN. Hope to see you here agin soon. Tell "Sidemeat" the "Sidekick" that he reminds me of Hoot Gibson (at least the hat does). Learn "They call the wind Maria". Played the 25th CD and loved it...looking forward to the 50th and your "Golden Goose" tour!!

My boys (now 25,29) loved Riders in the Sky and remeber being up on stage with them at Wisconsin's State Fair. Now my 16 month old grandchild is mesmerized by the same "cassette" and my newly puchased DVD which I use with him in the car. He stops what he's doing and just sits still listening. I just lulled him to sleep with the music. Thanks.

I will sure second the comments about the PBS show. I loved it, and am right now looking at your music to buy and your tour schedule.

I was at the taping of Song of the Mountains but I still haven't seen it on tv. I would like to have a copy of it sometime! As always, great show!

One of my fondest memories is being on stage with y'all as a ten year old. Springfield, Missouri, circa 1988/89? at the Ozark Empire Fair. Ranger Doug even commented on my high vocal range. (Out of a crowd of probably 20 or more kids who got on stage with y'all, of course he picked me out.)

After that, it was Saturday nights fighting with the radio so I could hear your radio show which actually played in Cleveland, Ohio. Now I'm wishing I had satellite radio.

I really wish I could find a DVD of y'all's Saturday morning TV show. I think my daughter would love it.

Keep living the Cowboy Way, y'all. It's sorely needed in these times.

I am a brand new, complete greenhorn of a fan, and am over the moon I discovered you guys and wish I'd done it ages ago! Growing up in Alberta during the early '60s meant hearing great cowboy music on my Grandma's tube radio. Heck, one of my Dad's sisters was courted by Wilf Carter during his Calgary days! In my home office a pair of toy six-shooter cap guns and a Davy Crockett coonskin hat hang on the wall - and you guys bring all that back alive and keep it fresh and vital for old and young folks alike. THANK YOU for being there and doing what you do so well!

Too Slim , I was listening to you guys on the opry tonight as I usualy do , and you had as a guest Hunter Hayes. I was very disapointed that you would have somebody like him on your portion of the show. He's worse than Keith Urban, and the songs he did were , well you sure couldn't call em songs or even bad Rap crap. What a bunch of CRAP. You guys are better than that. VERY DISAPOINTED to say the least !!!!!!!!
