Keep up the site! Us older fans aren't all over the facebook and twitter. It's good to see your material here. This format looks great and appreciate the updates, tour information, and mercantile.
I think a little different access to the video's library would be nice. You have some great short videos, but you cannot access them from your site until you watch the first one. Then you get a chance to select the next video to watch. On Youtube if you do a Riders in the Sky search... you get a lot of Ghost Riders... Keep up the good work fellows... you are great musicians and great entertainers...
Thanks for asking. From the banner, I thought you guys were 80 years deceased. But, I like the banner. Would you consider adding a line to it that let's folks know that RITS is alive in 2010 and the shows are hotter than a branding iron? Also, would you consider being mobile friendly? Presently, the mobile view of the banner scrunches up my favorite cowboys faces and silohuettes the links. I think the up-to-date events and mercantile information is spot-on. How 'bout a box so that viewers can state what town they'd like to have RITS visit? If there were such a thing as an acoustical orgasm, RITS equals it. Are you coming out with a dinnner music album anytime soon? You've already got great treadmill music. I'll shut up now. Women are bad to yak too much as proven since Eve. Thank you for being the best part of America; and providing an excellent escape from the *vicissitudes of life. (Good Scrabble word)
Any chance the Mercantile could describe the CD's a little more? I'm shopping for a Riders CD that would be ballads, lullabys, sleepy-time, music to put the kids down, and then go relax awhile on the porch before turning in. If you have something like that, I'd sure apprecaite the help in finding it. Also, I'm looking for Riders singing a capella. Riders have the voices that should be showcased once in awhile without instruments. I like your get up and go music, too.
I really enjoy listening to your songs on the cds and playing them on my guitar as best as I can. I like your site very much and like to visit the site to find out about new albums and what the Riders are doing. When I went to the store portion of the site I had hoped that I might to purchase autographed copies of the song books. An autographed copy of the Riders or Ranger Doug’s songbooks or a group picture would be something to cherish. I can understand how that may not be something you can do, but I suggest that you offer them to satisfy your more devoted fans and to attract more collectors to the site. I would also suggest that you add a complete song list to Ranger Doug’s Songs of the Sage Volume 1 song book in the store and give an example so the buyer can see what the music will look like in terms of chords or tabs so you can decide if you can play it. I would like to see more sheet music offered for sale so I would also suggest that you might want to offer to sell individual sheet music for your songs by mail, email or maybe offer them through musicnotes.com. Also, in Ranger Doug’s Rhythm Guitar the Ranger Doug Way there is a reference to a song Suzette’s Blues that I have not been able to find anywhere. It would be helpful to place that song on the site so we can hear what the melody is supposed to sound like. Many thanks for the wonderful music and keep it coming.
It would be powerfully enticing to have some close up video footage instead of nose bleed section views. I'd like to see the fringe dance like tornadic activity across a wheat field, while lightning zings across the strings. I'd like to see the facial expressions at the precise moment when God has decided to borrow and slip into the RITS bodies to experience their surreal utilization of all the humanly senses for himself. I'd like to hear the solo voices to dwell upon the canvases that the angels have painted across the RITS vocal chords, and to see the magician rain his whimsical grin over the squeezebox and leave me wondering, "Did I really hear all that?" I'd like to hear yodeling, yodeling, yodeling when I have the main page site open. Sometimes want it's calming to hear that harmony without having to think about lyrics. I'd use the web site yodeling as continuous looping white noise at work if you did that.
Like Riders music has connected the evening stars to the morning stars on many a night for me, I'd wish the music site would speak to what CD's are on the horizon. 'Can't ever get enough Riders in my ears, heart, and life. Thank you for being a golden standard that I choose to live by..."The Cowboy Way".
I'm always amazed that we are so blessed to be alive in a time of such talent, from Riders in the Sky to Emily Bear & so many in between... & wonderful technology that enables us to "be" there just by logging on to your website... but it truly is a lifetime experience to actually hear you fellas onstage in a live performance -- I actually feel UNWORTHY in the presence of such ageless greats as Riders in the Sky! Your music is 2nd to none & I hope you don't soon get tired & retire or anything... may God bless you folks & keep you around many more years!
As far as improving the website, just from my own perspective, it might be worth souping up the incentive to buy all the records... my boys are now 5 & 7, & I just made up my mind to "own em' all" -- & so we'll be adding a new Riders album to our collection each month from now until we own them all. How about a fan club? My boys love your music as much as I do & I hope they'll learn to play & sing it as well... if you have any training videos on how to learn your style of music, that'd be great, too. I also thought the idea for a page for fans to post where we want ya/ll to perform was a good idea as well.
Yesiree, yessiree I agree with Huge Fan above. I'd travel to hear/see Riders in the Wheelchair, Riders in the Wheelchair, Riders into the Sunset. Me thinks it would be helpful to say the day of the week in front of the calendar dates listed on tour dates. I like those Saturday shows because they are easier on my "horse" to get there. You see, after getting spoiled by perfect shows, I think your web site revolves around me, too.
In addition to the music, I am impressed by the timeless poetry, expression, and wit wrapped into every song and performance. I really didn't realize how much I start and end my day with Riders, until I started caring for this bird for a friend. The bird now mimics Riders in unexpected tributes. It likes jump between songs to "sing" parts of "Blue Bonnet Lady", "Burning Moonlight", "Nevada", and "Santa Fe". The it'll yodel "Yukon Stars", whistle "Camp Meeting" and "Desert Serenade", and then occasionally dances and chirps to "I've Cooked Everything, Man." I can only wish that it attempts "Dueling Banjos" and hit its own face and head!
Meanwhile, I'm also enjoying Slim's Roadside Wonders pics and think they'd make a great calendar idea to promote tour dates by sending a few ahead to state Tourism Departments since they'll advertise for free.

How about making downloads of "Riders Radio Theater" -- the show, not the album -- available here for a reasonable fee? I've got plenty of money in these ol' wore-out jeans ever since I sold Skyball Paint to Sheriff Jim, and in addition to giving up on beans and going back to steak, I'd like to throw some of it your way.
