CMA Fest 2011

Mighty fine and a great big western so long to CMA Fan Fest 2011. I'm about grinned out, but delighted to have met so many fans and friends. High points? TV interview with Cuban spitfire Shela, the Caribbean Oprah...rocking out on WSM live...signing autographs next to the American Idol winners and their mega-decibel fans...hugging a Quebe sister. See you next year!

Too Hank

Too Slim wore Hank Snow's toupee on the Opry last Saturday night. "Once the initial creepiness wore off, it was fun," reports the Slimster. "Plus, it inspired everybody backstage to do their Hank Snow impression: 'You're fired, Chubby.' 'And here she is...Miss Kelly Foxton!' And my personal favorite: 'On behalf of all those I felt did a fine job out here tonight...'"

Never Before Seen! From the Vaults of Time! Rare photos of Riders In The Sky and Roy Rogers!

Riders on stage at the Opry with Roy Rogers 1979.
It was 1979...and just about our first appearance ever on the Grand Ole Opry stage. The show was Hank Snow’s annual benefit for abused kids, headlined that year by Roy Rogers and Dale Evans.

Where have you been surprised to hear Riders music?

I was in Starbucks yesterday, taking a break from Side Meat's coffee, when my boy said "Hey Dad, listen! It's you!" And sure enough, there we were, on Starbucks Muzak, singing and yodeling "Back in the Saddle Again." Right in the middle of the incomprehensible indie/alt/modern grooves. Word's gettin' out, I tell ya!--Too Slim

The True and Startling Story of Too Slim and the "Paul Is Dead" Rumor

Yes, it's true, and yes, I made it all up." said Too Slim, Riders' bass man and wise acre.
